In response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in the cases of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Texas Impact issued the following statement:
Faith communities across a broad spectrum of cultures and traditions share the belief that every person has agency to make their own moral choices and should have autonomy to make decisions affecting their body, in accordance with their own beliefs. The Supreme Court’s ruling in the case of Dobbs shifts primary responsibility for regulating reproductive health care to state legislatures. In the coming weeks, Texas Impact’s board of directors will meet to discuss how this decision impacts the witness that mainstream faith communities should bear in Texas legislative decisions regarding reproductive health.
