Texas Impact’s new brief “Chaplains: Right for Faith Communities, Wrong for Public Schools” is designed to help school district trustees understand the requirements of SB 763, which mandates that every school district in Texas take a record vote by March 2024 as to whether the district will initiate or expand the use of chaplains as employees or volunteers in schools. The publication includes model resolution language for trustees to use depending on what policy approach they want to take, and explains the ups and downs of different approaches.
