Instructions, Forms, Best Practices, and Tips
This section is designed to support your projects with step-by-step guides and tips for success. Please be sure to have each member of your group complete a legislative engagement form whenever they do advocacy projects. It is especially important to keep track of how many calls, letters, and visits lawmakers get on climate—it helps advocacy groups like Texas Impact and our partners judge if our mobilization strategies are working. It also provides a “reality check” against what polls and media reports say it happening.

Whether you meet with policymakers in person; make calls; write letters; or communicate indirectly through strategies like attending candidate forums or writing letters to the editor, raising your voice in the public square takes dedication and courage…and it’s important to let others know you have taken those steps. Completing a Legislative Engagement Report lets Texas Impact and our partner organizations know about your work, so we can keep track of all the amazing advocacy going on.
