Dear {name},
This week at Texas Impact, we’re spending some quality time with calendars. With just under 5 weeks till the start of the legislative session, we’re firming up plans for conferences and advocacy days. We’re helping our members schedule legislative appointments, and we’re creating and updating resources—like our new Faith in Democracy YouTube series.
We’re making a lot of lists—and we’ve made one for your consideration.
Preparing for Your Most Productive Legislative Session Ever:
Engage Your Community
Plan to Attend Capitol Days
- Register for United Women in Faith Legislative Event, in-person or virtually. If you’re planning to attend in person, don’t delay getting registered as the event is expected to sell out. If you’re attending virtually, consider hosting a watch party
- Mark your calendar for these other events—register now, or watch for registration to open in early January
Build Your Connections
Get Up to Speed on the Process
- Watch the latest episode of Faith in Democracy, “The Legislative Calendar,” to understand how session works
- Watch one of our classics, “Betsy Calls Her Legislator,” featuring advocacy rockstar Betsy Singleton, for a tutorial on making a quick, effective legislative phone call
In the blog this week, Kat launches a series, "This is What a Lobbyist Looks Like," highlighting Texas Impact's lobby staff and what they're doing to get ready for session. Got questions for future installments? Email Kat and ask her to include them.
Thanks for your commitment to advocacy!
Love, |
