This week, Texas Impact staff have been tying up loose ends before we close up shop for our holiday break. We’ve got a lot of projects and events cooking for the new year (otherwise known as next month), and we are excited to share a few highlights:

Changing by Choice: A Fresh Look at Climate and Faith

If we know what we need to do, why do we fail to do it?

This five-week study invites us to apply this age-old question of faith to the problem of climate change. The study features videos recorded at the global climate negotiations in November 2025 and introduces the Global Ethical Stocktake, a discussion framework developed in 2025 to guide a global conversation on the ethics of climate change. With grace and urgency, this study will open space to ask hard questions and gain insights into the issue of climate change—and our responsibilities to each other as children of God.

Changing by Choice considers climate change as it intersects with other core concerns for faith communities, including hunger; migration; disaster response; and violent conflict. And, using the Global Ethical Stocktake framework, it brings your group into conversation with people in local communities around the world.

March Matters: Mobilizing Voters for the Texas Primary Elections

Texas Impact is a proud founding partner in March Matters—a nonpartisan campaign to increase voter participation in the March primary elections. Together with colleagues representing business, education, and community organizations, we have created a user-friendly platform to help your congregation or other group equip and support voters.

March Matters is a new resource within Texas Impact’s Texas Faith Votes program. Learn more about Texas Faith Votes

Also starting in January, be on the lookout for:

New activities and resources for gun violence prevention from our Vidas Robadas team
A new program for congregations to accompany migrants in detention, in partnership with our colleagues at Texas Immigration Law Council
More opportunities to work for reproductive care and other human needs
More resources for your religious freedom and public education advocacy

Your one-stop shop for all our new programming is United Women in Faith Texas Legislative Event. If you haven’t registered yet, don’t delay—spaces are filling up.

If you are in the North Texas area, you can get a first look at our new programming at Advocacy for Action, a one-day conference featuring advocacy skill building and issue training on key topics. Check out Texas Impact’s events page for more information.

And no matter where you are in the state, January is a great time to join a Texas Impact issue team. Teams will be taking a break for the holidays, and will be back in action in January.

This week’s episode of Weekly Witness features Texas Impact policy team members reflecting on 2025 and setting intentions for 2026. As I listened, I was reminded how much we accomplished together this year. Your leadership and partnership are what makes Texas Impact effective. We are grateful for your faithful witness, your financial support, and your generosity with your time and talents.
