This week, the Texas Impact staff is back in the office getting ready for the legislative session. There are a lot of opportunities for you to be involved in legislative advocacy with Texas Impact, and you can find all those opportunities at texasimpact.org.
I recommend you bookmark the Events tab on our website, which has a comprehensive listing of events and meetings, both online and in-person. Note that you can sort the calendar by categories to help you find what you’re looking for. (In answer to a frequently asked question, yes we are doing the Monday noon Zoom meetings. They will start on Monday, January 20, which is the first Monday after the legislative session starts.)
Also on the website, you can sign up to participate in teams, including our newest team, the Capitol Support Squad. You can order Fix the Abortion Ban postcards, and register to host a screening of the film Zurawski v. Texas. Need a refresher on the legislative process? You can watch our new series Faith in Democracy and download handouts on smart civic engagement—like this handout on holding informational events on policy issues in your faith community.
The start of the new legislative year is a great time to support our work financially. You can click the button on our website to donate. Another great way to support our work is sharing our information with your networks.
