Dear {name},
This week, Texas Impact is partnering with the City of San Antonio’s Faith-Based Initiative on the first of three webinars to help congregations and other groups plan for November 6—the day after the election. We’ve heard from folks across the state that congregations are looking for opportunities to provide space for their members and the wider community to share and process on what could be a tense day. REGISTER HERE
Facilitated by San Antonio’s Faith Liaison Rev. Ann Helmke, each event will introduce participants to San Antonio’s compassion-equation model for community conversation and highlight downloadable resources. Participants will receive actionable information to help you plan for your congregation or group’s response.
Each training will include a breakout session where participants will converse in small groups. These breakouts will not be recorded, but Ann’s presentation will be available as a recording on Texas Impact’s YouTube channel.
I’m so excited to share these events with Texas Impact members! Ann is a Texas treasure, and the compassion-equation model is one of my favorite discoveries this year.
This weekend, Texas Impact staff will be in San Antonio for the Interfaith Welcome Coalition’s 10th anniversary conference. Texas Impact VISTA members worked with IWC back in the day, and we’re thrilled to support the organization as it moves forward. It’s not too late to register for the conference, which you can do HERE.
Also this weekend, Bobby will be moderating a panel on gun violence prevention at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin. The event is open to the public–find more info HERE.
We know that many Texas Impact members are deeply engaged in election mobilization and we are so proud of all the good you are doing! Please be sure to let us know if you or your congregation are working on election-related activities.
Thanks for your labors and leadership, your faith and friendship—and everything you do for Texas.
Love, |
