Committee schedules were crammed this week as House and Senate committees work to hear as many bills as possible before legislative deadlines start to kick in. Texas Impact opposes many of the high-profile bills heard this week. We cover a number of these bills in other posts.
The Senate Public Education K-16 Committee took public testimony on SB 1798 to repeal in-state tuition for undocumented Texas students. The Senate passed SB 240, the new incarnation of the anti-trans bathroom bill, and SCR 42, which would state that it is the policy of the State of Texas to recognize two sexes, male and female.
