Election Information
Texas Impact urges you to vote in this year's general election.
In addition to the office of President of the United States, all 150 seats in the Texas House of Representatives, half of the 31 seats in the Texas Senate, all of our 32 U.S. House seats, 1 of our 2 U.S Senate Seats, and numerous judicial seats from courts of appeals to the chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court are all on the ballot, as well as local races, propositions and other ballot measures.
Early voting started October 20 and continues through October 31
There are two ways you can vote early:
1. You can vote in person at any one of the early voting sites within your county.
To find your polling location click here. Using your drivers license and date of birth you will be able to confirm your voter registration and access a PDF with all your available voting locations.
2.You can vote early by mail.
To do so you must request an application for a ballot to be mailed to you or download an application form. Check the Secretary of State's website to see if you meet the ballot by mail criteria.
Election Day is on November 4th
Election Day polling place information will be available after 5:00 p.m. October 31st on the Texas Secretary of State's website.
---Difficulty walking or standing for long periods? If you can drive or if you have a friend or relative who can drive you, you don't even have to get out of the car. Call ahead to notify the early voting clerk that you want to vote from your car. This procedure is called "curbside voting."---
Today is the Deadline to Register to Vote!
The deadline to register to vote for the November General Election is TODAY, October 6, 2008.
If you have never registered to vote or if you are not registered at your current address, you must do so to be eligible to vote in the November election.
You can visit the Texas Secretary of State’s website for more information and to download a registration form. Registration forms may also be found at your local library, high school, or post office.
