Houston: Let’s Talk About Health Insurance!
Posted June 5th, 2008 by Bee
On Thursday, June 12, join Texas Impact and friends for a town hall meeting on health insurance issues.
Houston Health Insurance Town Hall Meeting
Thursday, June 12
6:30pm to 8pm
Holman Street Baptist Church Fellowship Center
3501 Holman St, Houston 77004
Texans have seen health insurance premiums jump 40 percent in just five years, and we some of the highest premiums in the US. More than five million Texans—one out of every four—lack any kind of health insurance, and millions more are underinsured, paying stiff premiums for policies that still leave them vulnerable to medical debt.
Come tell your lawmakers your health insurance story and ask them what they can do to fix the system!
Legislative sponsors of this event include Representative Garnet Coleman, Representative Jessica Farrar, Representative Sylvester Turner, and Representative Alma Allen.
Organizational sponsors are Texas Impact, Texas ACORN, Texas Public Interest Research Group and Texas Legal Services Center.
