Health Care Policy in Your Hands
A Resource Manual and Study Guide for Faith Communities
In an effort to consolidate key information that informed citizens will need as they engage in discussions on health care - sure to come up in the 2008 presidential election - Texas Impact offers this resource manual, Health Care Policy In Your Hands. The manual includes information from our popular 2003 publication Do This and You Shall Live, as well as new resources on health care spending and health insurance.
Here you will find information on the current state of health care in both the U.S. and specifically in Texas, obtained from various notable sources such as The Kaiser Family Foundation, The Commonwealth Funds, Census Bureau, OECD, Health Affairs, and other established sources of scholarly and news-worthy information on health care. You will find the information useful for updating yourself personally as well as to begin discussions within your community and congregations on issues of health care that are emerging in political discourse. Many of the pages are printable handouts for you to bring into your discussions.
Health Care Policy in Your Hands will also offer a religious education curriculum on both the issues surrounding health care and the proposals for reforming this system. We will continue to post information, so keep checking this page for new additions!
If you have any questions regarding this resource manual/study guide, feel free to email James@texasimpact.org.
