Emma joined Texas Impact in 2016 as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader under the Welcoming Communities Initiative. She led 23 members in their collaborative goal of engaging faith communities, state agencies, and nonprofits to address forced migration issues across the state. In her current role as Operations and Membership Coordinator, Emma works to increase the organization’s operating capacity through relationship building with donors and funders, resource development, planning major legislative events and lobby days, orchestrating constituent visits with policy makers, and managing staff and their projects.
Emma graduated from the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Political Science and Economics. Before coming to Austin, she spent five years in the nonprofit and refugee resettlement sector, with extensive background in program management and analysis, development, and community outreach.
In addition to her work with Texas Impact, Emma serves as a Volunteer Deputy Registrar for the Travis County Tax Office and as an election judge for Travis County Elections. Emma believes that all individuals being able to participate in safe and fair elections is fundamental to our democracy. Outside of her policy work she is skilled in floral design and enjoys spending time with her twin sister in her hometown of Louisville, KY.
