Make Your Voice Heard in Your Local Newspaper: Letters to the Editor

One great way to influence public policy is to write a Letter to the Editor of your local newspaper on a public policy issue important to you. Letters to the Editor are great because they help shape public opinion for both citizens and news leaders and inform legislators of constituent concerns. You can find tips for writing Letters to the Editor here.

We encourage people of faith in the months preceding the 2017 Legislative Session to write Letters to the Editor about issues you care about. You can write about issues on the Texas Impact Legislative Agenda or based on community issues your congregation has encountered-maybe through completing the Texas Impact Treasure Hunt

Once you have completed your letter and had it published, please send it to us and we might even post it on our brand new Texas Impact "In the News" page. Texas Impact Board Member Betsy Singleton recently had her Letter to the Editor on Medicaid Expansion published in the Austin American Statesman.

Will yours be next? We will be watching!
