Help Texans Ride to the Polls

Voting is an important part of our democratic process. One way people of faith can help neighbors in need is by helping them get to the polls on election day!

In more than 20 Texas communities, buses, taxis, and rideshare services are offering free or discounted rides to and from polling places on election day: Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

While religious communities should avoid engaging in partisan politics, helping people get to the polls is a great way to help support a vibrant, participatory democracy in which all citizens have a voice. Faith communities can help by spreading the word about where to find rides to and from the polls, and can even offer rides in what some call “Souls to the Polls” efforts.
