Texas Impact is looking for people who are interested in spearheading a program to help needy Texans across the state receive enrollment assistance in social services such as SNAP (Food Stamps), Medicaid, CHIP and TANF. Texas Impact, in partnership with, Baylor University’s Texas Hunger Initiative and the Texas Association of Community Health Centers, is partnering with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to promote Texas’ new Community Partner’s Program: an innovative new program allowing local community organizations to provide information and enrollment assistance for state social services to eligible Texans. As part of this effort, Texas Impact is recruiting faith communities of all different religious traditions to be “Community Partners,” enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the state eligibility and enrollment system through the expansion of the Community Partners Program. Under the initiative we have two types of job openings available, AmeriCorps*VISTA Leaders and AmeriCorps*VISTAs.
Job Description: Texas Impact’s Community Partner Recruitment Initiative (CPRI) Leader will work in our Austin, TX office. The VISTA Leader will work with one other VISTA Leader to support and manage 30 CPRI VISTAs located around the state as they help their regional sites focus on outreach, resource and system development, and building the capacity of the CPRI. CPRI Leaders will assist with overall program management program including: recruiting new VISTAs; acting as a liaison between members/supervisors and program staff; compiling reporting information; individual check-in and monthly conference call hosting/check ins; organizing and conducting quarterly meetings and trainings; site visits; maintaining project management software and social media outlets.
Qualifications: Must have successfully completed at least one term as an AmeriCorps*VISTA • High school diploma or GED • Available to serve full-time for one year. • Valid driver’s license or ID card. • Home telephone • Successful completion of a criminal background check.• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the use of standard office technology • Organized and self motivated • Able to function in a fast paced environment • Proficient in multi-tasking • Able to work flexible 35 to 40 hour weeks, including some evenings and weekends • Must be able to attend mandatory VISTA Leader training. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate the following: Bachelors Degree • Knowledge of field organizing and marketing • Previous leadership experience • Knowledge of Texas geography and communities • Exemplary reading, writing, communication and organizational skills

Job Description: Texas Impact’s Community Partner Recruitment Initiative (CPRI) Outreach Coordinators will work in teams of 2 to recruit community based organizations to join the statewide Community Partner program. The Outreach Coordinator will also look to strengthen the program outcomes by creating materials and systems for ongoing sustainability and success of the Community Partners Program. Major responsibilities of Outreach Coordinators include; act as a liaison between the state’s Health and Human Service Commission and recruited organizations; develop a written work plan and timeline for outreach implementation; develop program materials; facilitate Community partner orientation, training and assistance; maintain accurate records of work; report on progress in statistical and narrative reports; Serve as public ambassador for the CPRI project; Participate in all CPRI and AmeriCorps training, conference calls, events, service projects, and other activitie. This is a 12 month, full-time (40 hours/week) position as a member of the CPRI AmeriCorps VISTA program serving with Texas Impact. The Outreach Coordinator VISTA should anticipate some Saturday and Sunday hours.
